20 more structures on railway land demolished in C’nawabganj

Railway authority demolished about 20 more

structures on Tuesday from the railway lands in Chapainawabganj railway station area on the third day of the eviction drive this year.

Earlier, at least 68 structures were demolished on the two day’s eviction drive on January 2012.

A team led by Chapainawabganj additional district magistrate, Saiful Islam, started demolish at about 12:00pm. Kiran Chandra Roy, estate officer of Bangladesh railway (west

zone), Sakiluzzaman, assistant superintendent of police of Chapainawabganj were also present during the drive.

Kiran Chandra ray, estate officer of the railway, said that the authority announced by PA a week ago for remove their

illegal structures. But they did not comply that announce and did not leave railway land.

The drive for evicting illegal establishments from the railway lands would continue, he added.
