Border Guard Bangladesh pushed back 14 Rohingya ethnic people to Myanmar through Gundom frontier of Bandarban district early Wednesday, BGB said.
The commanding officer of 17 BGB Battalion, Lt Col Abu Jar Md Jahed said a BGB patrol team detained those 14 Myanmar citizens who attempted to enter into Bangladesh illegally at Gundom frontier at about 6:00am.
All of them were returned to Myanmar after providing food and medicine in the afternoon, he said.
A total of 134 Rohingya people had been pushed back through Gundom, Tumbro and Balokhali border points under Naikhyangchari and Ukhia upazilas of Bandarban and Cox’s Bazar districts respectively during February this year, he added.
