Horrible traffic jam

FARM Gate is an important part of the Dhaka city. It is a junction of Green Road, Mymensingh Road and Mirpur Road. Public and private transports often create a traffic jam which causes great trouble to passengers and pedestrians alike. Rickshaws, buses and trucks are placed in such a way that the whole area becomes jam packed with vehicles. Rickshaw-pullers make three to four lines. Trucks and buses go on using the horns in such a way that it tells upon the nerve and brain of the people around. Passengers become panic-stricken while crossing this area.
Accidents are very common here. There are many schools, colleges and shopping centres in and around the Farm Gate area. People and students have no other alternative but to cross this area in order to go to educational institutions or shopping centres. The attitude of rickshaw pullers and motor vehicle drivers implies that there is no traffic rule or no one is there to relieve the people of their sufferings.
The government should be more active to render safety of the people in the roads. The police should be more active to enforce traffic rules on. May this problem be taken up in right earnest by the relevant authorities.
