20 held in Benapole while crossing border illegally

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested 20 people, including seven women and two children, from Putkhali border in Benapole in Jessore Sunday morning while trying to go to India illegally, UNB reported.
Mosharaf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Benapole port police station, said acting on secret information, a team of BGB conducted a drive in Balurmath area and arrested them while they were trying to cross the border without valid documents this morning.
The arrestees hail from different parts of Faridpur, Narail and Bagerhat districts.
Later, they were handed over to Benapole port police station.
A case was lodged in this connection.
