Confident Sri Lanka arriveStaff Correspondent
The Sri Lankan cricket team were loaded with confidence despite losing their last Test match as they arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday.
Pakistan came back from behind to win the third Test and level the three-match Test series 1-1 against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates but the loss hardly had any impact on the island nation as they appeared positive on arrival.
Sri Lanka will play two Test matches, two Twenty20 Internationals and three one-day internationals against the hosts.
Ruwan Kalpage, fielding coach of Sri Lanka, told the media that it was always a challenge to play against Bangladesh in Bangladesh.
‘Definitely when we play in Bangladesh, the home team got the advantage of doing well,’ said Kalpage at the airport.
‘Always, the wicket that is prepared suits the condition of the home team,’ he said.
‘We are looking forward to the challenge and we are looking forward to do well. Definitely we want to win the series. We have played good cricket in the last two weeks against Pakistan. So we are looking forward to do our best here in Bangladesh,’ he added.
The first Test starts in Dhaka on Monday, followed by the second and final Test match in Chittagong scheduled to begin on February 4.
