Prime suspect of Noor attack dead

New Age Online

Police recovered Saturday morning the body of the prime accused in a murder case filed with Nilphamari sadar police station in connection with Asaduzzaman Noor’s motorcade attack in the northern district that had left five people dead.
On Dec 14, Noor’s motorcade had come under attack at Kanpura crossing as he was returning to Nilphamari town after visiting the distressed minority people affected by attacks allegedly by BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men, police and locals said.
The case lodged with the station, enlisting 14 people, regarding attack on that day, according to Shahjahan Pasha, officer-in-charge of Nilphamari police station.
The deceased was identified as Golam Rabbani, an organising secretary of a local union unit of BNP.
On information, police rescued the body along Nilphamari-Domar road at Palashbari area around 8:30 am, said the OC adding the body bore the marks of injuries.
The body was sent to sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
