Inspirational songs presented at LWM

Inspirational songs, poems were performed by different cultural organisations on the opening day of the weeklong Victory Day celebrations programme organised by Liberation War Museum at its open stage in Segunbagicha on Tuesday.
Dance troupes also presented colourful recitals at the programme organised to pay tribute to the martyrs of the war of independence.
The programme titled Manobadhikar Dibas Theke Bijoy Dibas (from human rights day to victory day) was inaugurated on the International Human Rights Day.
The inauguration ceremony began with a welcome speech delivered by a trustee of the museum Mafidul Haque, who is also the member secretary of the Liberation War Museum.
Paulo Casca, the director of the Brussels based South Asian Democratic Forum, delivered a speech on ‘genocide, human rights and trail’.
Following the speeches different cultural organisations presented music and dance in group and solo performances.
Dancers of Spandan presented a colourful group dance synchronosied with the songs Jatoi dekhi sara jagot ghurey and Purba digante surjo utechhe. The dance troupe’s another dance performance with the song Swadhin swadhin dike dike jagchhe received audience acclaims to great extent.
The singers of Satyen Sen Shilpy Gosthi presented several patriotic songs including Ekkattoer shokun gulo urchhe abar desh jurey, Janotar sangram cholchhei choibe, Ki jey ajgubi karbar and Sonay morano bangla moder swasan korechhe ke. The recitation artistes of Swarachitra presented poems of different poets in a group recitation.
Besides, theatre troupe Dhaka Padatik staged Madarika Khel at the programme.
