Have mercy on people

WE FEEL insecure amidst an increasingly volatile and violent political situation. We feel all the more insecure when common people fall victim of the mindless activities of the political parties.
We would like to ask whose interest the political parties are trying to protect in the name of people and politics when their politics is subjecting people to loss of life and limbs. Scores of people have been killed and hundreds injured, including many rendered disabled.
It seems that the more people die, the stronger the platform seems to get for some vested quarters. Sometimes people are used as a shield and as an excuse to remain in power.
Why cannot our political parties reach a consensus? If politics and politicians are there for the benefit of the people, why are people becoming victims of ruthless killings by political parties. Return to or retention of power by any means seems to be the only desire of our politicians.
