Jatiya Party secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader said on Sunday that they have told the visiting UN assistant secretary-general for political affairs Oscar Fernández Taranco, that they want the EC reschedules the election schedule.
‘We informed him that a change in the polls schedule immediately may help all political parties to participate,’ he said after a meeting between Taranco and JP chairman HM Ershad that was held at Baridhara in the capital this morning.
Ruhul Amin also said they informed the UN assistant secretary-general that JP wanted an ‘respectable decision’ so that government, opposition and the knowledgeable persons can sit to work out a solution over the ‘national crisis’.
