Khaleda postpones Barisal tour with Oct 25 in mindNew Age Online
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s scheduled tour to Barisal on October 22 has been postponed. Advocate Mojibor Rahman Sarwar, central organizing secretary and Barisal city president of BNP, confirmed the information.
Sarwar said the scheduled tour of party chairperson, also chief of the 18-party opposition alliance, to address a public meeting in Barisal divisional city on October 22, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, including Eid-Puja holidays.
However, sources in the BNP said the opposition leader postponed the tour as she was not willing to leave the capital during a tense political situation likely to emerge after October 25, the deadline set by BNP for the government to meet their demand for an election-time caretaker government.
