Khaleda urges govt to come to path of understanding
She advises the govt to read peoples’ mindsNew Age Online
Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday again urged the government to come along to the path of understanding, avoiding pushing the country to clash and uncertainty.
‘Still I would urge them (government) to behave responsibly and realise the pulse of the people. Time is passing away quickly. I hope they would come to the path of understanding and not push the country into clash and further uncertainty,’ she said at a discussion meeting.
Bangladesh Businessman Council (Bangladesh Babosayi Parishad), a newly formed platform of BNP leaning businessman, organised the discussion on ‘Present situation of trade and commerce and economic affairs’ at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre.
Khaleda urged the business community to resist unilateral general elections if the AL government attempts to hold.
She also cited about her directives to constitute polling centre-based all party action council to resist unilateral election, if organised by the AL unilaterally.
Khaleda, also leader of the opposition, said competitive, fair and acceptable election under a non-party neutral government is now a common demand of the time. It has turned into a national demand.
She called upon all to raise voice united to protect the voting rights of the people and uphold democracy through unified movement.
