Verdict leak a 'drama': prosecutionNew Age Online
Prosecution co-ordination MK Rahman said Tuesday that BNP standing committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury got due punishment.
‘We are happy, we got justice,’ he said in his immediate reaction to the verdict delivered by ICT-1.
The International Crimes Tribunal handed BNP lawmaker Salauddin death in the case of crimes against humanity committed during the War of Liberation in 1971.
Meanwhile, defence lawyer AKM Fakhrul Islam said, ‘My client was denied justice’.
‘We will go to the appellate division and seek retrial. This is nothing but miscarries of justice,’ he said.
‘This was a judgment of the Law ministry,’ he added.
The Defence lawyer said that the judgment copy is now available on the internet and he held up the copy to newsmen.
Fayyaz Quader Chowdhury, son of Salauddin, said they had submitted seventy documents but the tribunal did not considered them.
‘We will certainly go to the apex court against the verdict.’
He also said ‘if you see the social media, you will find the judgment.’
‘The judgment copy available in the social media is absolutely same, which was pronounced today,’ he claimed.
Asked about the alleged leak of verdict on the social media prosecutor Zead-Al-Malum said this is a ‘drama’ created by the SQC family.
