‘Muggers’ loot gold, kill shop staffNew Age Online
Robbers looted more than 100 bhori gold and murdered an employee of a gold shop, ‘Srikrishna Jewelry works’ at Pilot market of Masjeed road under Sakhipur upazila in Tangail Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Ajit Sarker, 32, son of Biswanath Sarker of Hatibandha village of the upazila.
Officer in charge of Sakhipur police station, Khan Hasan Mostofa said on the night, after closing the shop, Ajit went to sleep in there.
On Tuesday morning, Bikash, a staff of the shop, came to the shop and saw the shutter of the shop open and found Ajit dead.
After hearing him shout, locals came to the spot and informed the police.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the dead body to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Owner of ‘Srikrishna Jewelry works’ Govinda Lal Kormoker claimed more than 100 bhori of gold was looted from his shop.
No case was filed with Sakhipur police station in this regard.
