Any bid to foil election will face all out resistanceNew Age Online
Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir said anti-democratic forces that were out to thwart the election will face strong resistance.
He made the assertion Thursday while he was inaugurating newly built Battalion Headquarters Building as chief guest for Rapid Action Battalion-7 at Patenga in the port city.
'Several vested quarters, taking the guise of political parties, were out to obstruct election,' he said, terming elections fundamental ground of democracy.
Comparing the BNP-led tenure to the age of darkness, the minister said that BNP used RAB for political purposes, epitomizing the force of oppression.
RAB has earned much credence from all walks of society for its outstanding contribution in ensuring that the law and order situation is stable, he said lauding the force.
The onus to uphold human rights is on the shoulder of RAB, he said, adding that under the Awami League government, RAB has turned into an ally of the helpless populace.
