At least three workers were killed in two separate incidents in the capital’s Mirpur and Sadarghat areas on Friday, hospital morgue staff said.
In Mirpur, construction worker Monirul Islam was electrocuted while he was working in an under construction building at about 8:00 am.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and doctor pronounced him death at about 9:30 am.
The accident took place near the Grameen Bank building.
In Sadarghat, two workers, including one Habibur Rahman were critically injured when they fell down from the Great Wall Tower and landed on a power transformer at about 1:00 am, when they were loading garment goods on the roof-top of the building.
Of the injured, Habib was declared dead at about 2:30 am at DMCH, while another died at Sir Salimullah Medical College in the early hours.
