Tribunal takes Subhan’s war crimes into cognizanceNew Age Online
International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Thursday took war crimes charges against Jamaat leader Abdus Subhan into cognizance.
The tribunal sets October 2 for hearing on charge framing and directed both the prosecution and defence teams to appear before the tribunal on the day with full preparation.
The tribunal said they have perused the formal charges, statements of the witnesses along with other documents and found that there was strong case against the accused.
The tribunal also directed the prosecution to submit a copy of formal charges and other documents to the tribunal by today (Thursday) so that they could distribute those to the defence team.
Subhan was in the dock.
The war crimes investigation agency completed its probe against Subhan on September 12 and the prosecution submitted formal charges and other documents to the tribunal on September 15.
