Quader’s appeal verdict tomorrowNew Age Online
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will give the verdict on the appeals against the life term sentence handed to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Molla on Tuesday.
On February 5, the International Crimes Tribunal-2 delivered the verdict jailing Quader to life term on charges of crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
Both the appeals have been posted as item number 1 on tomorrow's cause-list of the five-member Appellate Division, chaired by the chief justice Md Muzammel Hossain.
On July 23, the Appellate Division ended the hearing of the appeals and reserved the pronouncement of the verdict.
The government appealed against the verdict claiming that the sentence was inadequate and challenged his acquittal on one charge.
