Youth shot dead by robbersNew Age Online
A gang of armed robbers shot dead a youth at his house in the capital’s Jatrabari early Friday.
The victim, Baktiar Al Latif, 20, son of businessman Jahid Al Latif Khoka, was declared dead when he was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at about 4:30am.
The family said the incident took place at about 3:30am when robbers were searching valuables inside lockers, by confining family members inside the house.
At one point, Baktiar woke up and tried to resist the criminals, leading to a scuffle.
Being resisted, the robbers opened fire, causing serious injuries to Baktiar.
Rafikul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari police, said that they were investigating the matter, adding that the robbers failed to take away their loot.
Police were yet to arrest anyone in this connection.
