Govt will have to be ousted through movement: FakhrulNew Age Online
Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said the government will have to be ousted through movement, otherwise, he said general elections will not be held.
He made the remarks while addressing a discussion at a city hotel urging party leaders and activists to quickly further strengthen the organization to prop up the current movement in the final stage, 'under the leadership of Khaleda Zia to protect democracy'.
Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, the female wing of BNP, organized the discussion to mark its 35th founding anniversary and to observe the sixth year release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia from prison.
Fakhrul said Awami League will not be allowed to hold unilateral elections without BNP, saying people will not allow a return to the 'misrule' of AL for a second time.
BNP acting secretary general said elections will be held only after reinstating the provision of election-time non-party government in the Constitution; otherwise he said, elections will not be held.
