The left partners of the ruling Awami League-led alliance want the issue of the election time government resolved as soon as possible.
They also want the issue resolved through a dialogue between the ruling party and the opposition parties so that all parties take part in the elections.
Workers Party of Bangladesh president Rashed Khan Menon, coming out from the meeting told New Age that he had placed a proposal to resolve the issue of election-time government and take steps to create a level playing-field during the elections.
The meeting took a decision to hold a meeting with the top leader of the alliance Sheikh Hasina soon, to finalise some important decision of the alliance, Menon added.
The alliance had welcomed the move of the main opposition BNP’s proposal that they would place three separate draft models of an election-time government under which next general elections would be held.
The alliance leaders urged the main opposition to place their election-time government proposal in the parliament session which begins from September 12 to hold discussions on their proposal.
The meeting was held at the AL chief’s office in Dhanmondi.
