Illegal structures razed on BurigangaNew Age Online
The concerned authorities on Wednesday have knocked down around 50 illegally built structures on a 1.5-kilometre stretch of the river Buriganga in Kamrangirchar area, as part of the move to free rivers of encroachers.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Bangladesh Water Development Board and Dhaka district administration, jointly launched the operation in the morning.
Officials said they carried out the drive from Loharpul to Swarighat areas to remove the illegal establishments, Somoy tv reported.
