RAB cracks down on illicit Yaba tradeNew Age online
Rapid Action Battalion has begun a fresh countrywide drive against illicit drug trading, especially Yaba, following the killing of a police couple, allegedly by her addict daughter and her friends, officials said on Wednesday.
‘We have begun the drive considering the present social circumstances we are facing,’ said RAB’s legal and media wing director, Wing Commander ATM Habibur Rahman.
The RAB officials said that the fresh drive has begun from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, RAB-7 has recovered 1,000 pieces of the Yaba (Methamphetamine) pills and arrested an alleged supplier in Conx’s Bazar.
The battalion on Tuesday had recovered 3,152 pieces of the Yaba pills in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Yaba supplies have gone rampant as more and more youths are being addicted by these impulse-enhancing tablets, experts said. They warned that checking its use is crucial to save social values and youths from derailment.
