Two Bangla documentaries to be screened at Bangalore Film FestCultural Correspondent
Two local documentary films on water pollutions will be screened at the eighth Voices from the Waters International Film Festival in Bangalore, India.
Directed by Oasiuddin Ahmed Tito, Kumar Kahon(The Gaps of Kumar) and Kochuripana(Water Hyacinth) will be screened at the three-day festival, which will begin on August 30, featuring subject matters like water pollution, scarcity of water, floods and droughts, global warming, preservation of large water bodies and the lives of the people living close to rivers and seas.
Both films deal with the struggles of the common people living on the river banks of Bangladesh. Kumar Kahon reveals the stories of the people who are dependent on Kumar River for living. Kachuripana, on the other hand, shows the typical day of a family, which lives on a boat at Dhaleshwari River.
The films will also be shown at the National Gallery of Modern Art and Max Mueller Bhavan.
Oasiuddin Ahmed Tito has been invited to attend the opening of the festival at Christ University, Bangalore on August 29.
