Two roof-top train travelers killedNew Age Online
At least two passengers were killed and two others injured after they slipped off the roof of a Dhaka-bound train in Gandaria rail station platform in the capital Wednesday morning.
Of the victims, Zakir, was identified as a motor mechanic, died on spot while another unidentified person died on his way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Police and witnesses said the four were hit by the railway platform shed when the train was approaching the platform at about 10:50am.
Humayun Kabir, a sub-inspector of Shyampur police station, said they have taken the body to send it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
‘We are looking into the matter to learn what exactly happened,’ he added.
The local people said such accidents often take place on Dhaka-Narayanganj rail route.
