No new album released in Ctg this EidMostafa Yousuf . Chittagong
No new album of local songs has been released ahead of this Eid in Chittagong, indicating a decline in the business.
In the previous years, during every Eid, four to five albums of local song used to hit the local market.
Singers like Shefali Ghose and Sam Sundar Boisno were favourites to the people of the regions.
But now local singers seem to have lost the legacy.
Amin Store, a house promoting local songs and singer, released their last album two years back.
Explaining the reason behind the decline in the trend, its owner Mohammad Nurul Amin said once the album was released, the songs spread through mobile and internet, leaving the album unsold.
‘As a result we are to count losses,’ he said.
Chittagong once was rich in melodious and heart touching songs that spread across the country, he added.
The singers are now failing to sustain the glory of the songs, except Sirajul Islam who became famous for the album ‘Head Master’ to some extent, he continued.
Two years back the last album they released was ‘Chatgaiya Sundari’ which won the heart of people of Chittagong.
Md Abdullah Chowdhury, manager of recording house Binimoy Store, put the same reason, saying this year they were going to release a local tele-film titled ‘Bilathi Madam’ instead of song album.
‘In spite of the downtrends in local song market, we attempted to release an album of Sirajul Islam this year but his demand goes beyond our ability,’ he said.
