Welcome ICT 2 verdict

THE long-awaited verdict on crimes committed during the war of independence in 1971 in the case of Abul Kalam Azad has been delivered by the International Crimes Tribunal-2. The tribunal convicted him of crimes against humanity and ordered to hang him to death. We welcome the verdict. It is a conspicuous progress to establish the dreams of thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their life for our country.
Abul Kalam Azad and the like tried to resist our liberation from the oppressive Pakistani regime and helped them commit heinous crimes such as rape, arson, murder and so on. So this verdict of course bears historical importance and significance.
It is also a warning to those who are conspiring against Bangladesh at present and will do so in future. This day will remain in the calendar of independent Bangladesh forever.
