Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha on Wednesday conducted a drive to free Gulshan Lake walkways from illegal structures.
During the drive, officials of the city development authorities demolished 70 structures including tea stalls, half-brick house and shanties, said Rajuk engineer Nurul Islam.
An enforcement team of Rajuk, led by its magistrate Rokon Ud Dowla, conducted the six-hour drive, which started from the eastern part of Gulshan Shooting Club and continued to Badda Link Road.
Rokon Ud Dowla told New Age that they would continue the drive to remove illegal structures from Uttara, Banani and Gulshan Lake in line with a verdict of the Appellate Division of 2012.
He said the drive was linked with Hatirjheel-Begunbari project.
