General Pharmaceuticals Limited on Tuesday launched a school-based oral health awareness campaign programme for above-six-year school goers in Dhaka city to mark its 25 years of service.
GPL managing director Momenul Hau announced the campaign at a news briefing at the GPL office in the city.
The slogan of the campaign is ‘healthy mouth, healthy smile’.
As a pilot project, campaigners will visit 10 schools in Dhaka from late January to mid-April this year.
Students and guardians will be briefed on the
importance of keeping mouth fresh and clean
and provided dental check-ups and treatment free of cost.
Now-a-days, children consume fast food more, use toothbrush reluctantly which increase dental carriage. Using mouthwash kills germ inside the mouth three times higher than brushing teeth a time.
GPL has manufactured a domestic mouthwash brand ‘LISTER’ for different age-categories.
Organisers target to reach a total of 140,000 people including students, guardians, family members of the students and general people through campaign and media.
New Age general manager (marketing and communication) Nazmul Ahasan, Compact Communication Ltd managing director Sayed Jawher Saadat, GPL oral health specialist Dr Siful Aalam Talukdar, GPL Medical Services manager CSM Ehsanul Khaleque, GPL director Mir Zaki Azam Chowdhury also spoke at the programme.
Organised by Compact, Tooth Planet provides
free dental treatment
while English daily New Age, Bengali daily Samakl and ATN Bangla are the media partners of the campaign.
