Please, rein in BCL hoodlums
ONE wonders what the government would say now after factional fighting within the Bangladesh Chhatra League, students’ wing of the ruling Awami League, led to an indefinite closure of Bangladesh Agricultural University on Saturday. One wonders what the ruling party or the central leadership of the Chhatra League would say. Most importantly, what would they tell the family of the 12-year-old madrassah student who got caught in crossfire, shot in the forehead and killed? That he was at the wrong place at the wrong time? Given the increase in scope, frequency and ferocity of BCL atrocities and excesses, are we not waiting for our turn to be at the wrong place at the wrong time?
