BCB finishes probe against umpires

Staff Correspondent

The second investigation committee, formed by Bangladesh Cricket Board to look into the allegation made against some Bangladeshi umpires, completed the job finally, said the officials on Saturday.
The BCB had formed the committee after a sting operation by an Indian television channel exposed senior Bangladeshi umpire Nadir Shah and Sharafudoulah Ibne Saikat in October.
Retired district judge Jamil Mahmud, ex-cricketer Shakil Kashem and BCB security consultant Col (retd) Mesbahuddin Serniabat completed the job after a previous committee failed to do so.
The committee – which quizzed Nadir Shah, national cricketers Abdur Razzak and Tamim Iqbal on Saturday – is expected to submit its report by next week, said committee member Shakil Kashem.
‘We had gone through all information regarding this issue provided by various sources during the course of time,’ Kashem told reporters.
Tamim and Razzak were quizzed for their link with Bangladesh Premier League franchise Dhaka Gladiators media manager Minhaz Uddin Khan, who was also exposed in the sting operation.
