Two-day children's fair ends in Barisal

The two-day children fair featuring book exhibition and cultural programnmes ended in Barisal on Sunday night.
Bangladesh Shishu Academy Barisal branch with the help of the district administration organised the ‘Shishu Ananda Mela O Shishu Natya Utsab’ at the Ashwini Kumar Hall with the aim to create a healthy environment for the child entertainment.
The stalls in the fair displayed documents of the war of independence, juvenile books and handicrafts produced by the children.  A remarkable number of children participated at the painting competition, music and dance presentations. They also staged plays at the programme.
Theatre groups named Shishu Theater group of Shabdaboli staged Kaljatra, National Children Task Force (NCTF) staged Kajer Meye Salma, Shishu Adhikar Dal staged Lal Sabuj Niler Galpo .
Moreover, Shishu Academy screened Morshedul Islam’s film Amar Bandhu Rashed.
Earlier, Barisal City Corporation Mayor Shawkat Hossain Hiron inaugurated the two-day programmes Saturday morning.
The inauguration programme was followed by discussion in which the participants urged creating entertainment opportunity every child in the society. It will help them to grow in a healthy atmosphere, which is very essential for the child development, the observed.
