Conference calls for spreading Tagore works to young people

The two-day district conference of Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilon Parishad ended on Saturday advocating to spread Tagore practice to meet the challenge created by the ongoing cultural aggression.
The closing ceremony also included a certificate and crest awarding ceremony.
The closing session of the programme titled as ‘training on songs of Tagore’ held at Barisal NGO Development Network auditorium.
Earlier on Friday Tagore researcher professor Dr Nurul Anwar inaugurated the two-day programme on hoisting the national and organizational flag in front of Aswani Kumar Hall.
He called for spreading philosophy of Tagore’s works amongst the young generation who are fascinated to the other cultures aired on different TV channel. 
The inauguration ceremony was followed by a colourful procession.
A competition of Tagore songs held at the BNDN auditorium on Friday evening. Professor Nurul Anwar, Moin Uddin Nazir and local Tagore singers were the judges of the competition.
The second session of the first day’s programme at Ashwini Kumar Hall was inaugurated by seasoned thespian Nikhil Sen as chief guest.
Local classical musician and instrument player Bhloanath Guha alias Nakuleshwar Guha was accorded reception for his life achievements.
Nazrul Islam Chunnu, president of the Barisal branch of JRSSP, presided over the session in which Nikhin Sen, Kajal Ghose, Shamima Masud Munni, Jibon Krishna Dey, Murad Ahmed, Deb Dulal Guha, Akkas Hossain, among others delivered speeches.
The speakers called to expand the practice and propagate the internal themes of the songs of Rabindranath Tgore.
They also stressed on research and study on Tagore’s philosophy and his music for building a non-communal, intellectually enlightened, progressive, open and broad minded humanist nation.
A cultural function based on Tagore’s songs and literatures were also presented on Friday evening.
