Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajote on Friday demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Bishwajit Das and their exemplary punishment.
At a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity, the rights body of the Hindu minorities alleged that the post mortem report of Bishwajit given by the Salimullah Medical College Hospital was biased.
The organisation secretary general Gobinda Chandra Pramanik said that Maksudur Rahman, a forensic doctor at the hospital, gave the report to protect the killers of Bishwajit.
The organisation leaders demanded transfer of the case to speedy trial tribunal and exemplary punishment of the killers.
Bishwajit was killed by the activists of the ruling Awa mi League-backed student organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League in old Dhaka during the opposition-sponsored countrywide road blockade on December 9, 2012.
The Hindu Mahajote leaders also called on the government to pay Tk one crore to the family of Biahwajit compensation.
The briefing was also attended, among others, by the organisation leaders Palash Kanti Dey, Bipul Bishwas, Fanibhusan Hawlader and parents of Bishwajit Ananta Chandra Das and Kalpana Rani Das and brother Uttam Das.
