Black back with new vocal
Nazia Nusrat AdninAlternative Rock band Black makes a comeback this Eid. After great popularity in Bangladesh’s rock scene for over a decade the band faced a personal crisis when singers Tahsan and John left. However, the band returns with a new vocalist and is geared up to generate more celebrated music.
Mashuk, the new vocalist, replaces John as the lead singer. The band is set to come on Desh TV tonight to do a phono-live concert at 10:34pm. Black will perform their popular songs as well as the numbers requested.
About the show, Mushfequr Jahan the guitarist of the band told the New Age, ‘We are looking forward to the show as it will be our first appearance in a live TV show after a long break.’
Black also has released a single in a mixed album called ‘Hatiyar’, the biggest band mixed album of country’s rock history.
‘The song was done quite a long time ago but we released it on the occasion of Eid.’ Jahan spoke about the project.
Tony, the band’s drummer, said with much enthusiasm, ‘We are very excited and glad to be a part of this unique and historical project on rock music.’
Black is scheduled to perform at several live gigs right after Eid. With their new lead vocalist a new era in their career has begun.
Black formed in 1998 before the start of the new millennium. Their popularity had risen with the new century with their signature tunes and performances. The band had its highs and lows in the form of a bus accident in 2005 that lead them to a hiatus. But they had returned to the rock scene shortly afterwards. However, because of John wanting to pursue higher studies the band had to replace their lead vocalist for a time. The band’s passion for music still seems strong as over a decade has passed by since their emergence to fame.
